FOOD SUSTAINABILITY

Through the development of well-functioning ecosystems involving both indigenous permaculture/food forest principles and Meliponiculture, Sacred Amazonia is able to provide systems for soil regeneration, and the diversification of crops through the reintroduction of Native seeds. Sacred Amazonia provides agricultural literacy to established farmers, including alternatives to toxic chemical fertilizers and slash/burn techniques, as well as annual vs. mono crops, boosting crop yields and addressing climate impact. Sacred Amazonia also provides youth with the necessary skills and resources to begin their own agro-business based on ethical and environmentally beneficial practices. In turn, increasing food security amongst the indigenous communities of the Amazon Rainforest.
